A Personal Message from CEO Kevin R. Perkey

The last two years have been a transformative time for South Central Pa Works. Our organization is on a trajectory to accomplish great things in the months and years ahead. Thus, it is with bittersweet emotions that I have decided it is time for a new professional challenge. At the end of July, I will be stepping down as CEO of SCPa Works as my family and I will be relocating to Portland, OR to pursue the next chapter in our young family’s life.

It has been an enormous privilege to serve as SCPa Works’ CEO. I have had the pleasure of working with many talented and dedicated partners both within and outside of our organization; leading the work we’ve accomplished together setting a new vision and strategic direction for our regional public workforce system; and witnessing the progress we have made toward our mission of unlocking the potential of those we invest in across South Central Pa.

As I leave South Central Pa and explore what lies ahead, I am heartened that I will have the opportunity to retain many of the relationships I have formed during my short tenure here. On a personal note, we are embracing the adventure of a move to Portland, OR, a city where we will have many of the lush green parks, rivers, and “small town feel” that we love so much about South Central Pennsylvania.

The months ahead will offer numerous opportunities for me to extend my gratitude to many of you in person. Your support, your partnership, and your friendship over the past two years have been deeply meaningful to me, have empowered my leadership at SCPa Works, and have enriched me personally in ways I will forever be grateful.

Opportunities for continued growth and greater impact by SCPa Works abound. I am confident the combination of our strategic board, dedicated local elected officials, a highly skilled staff and many committed community partners will position SCPa Works for even greater success.

Now I need to get back to work!
